PAW Patrol: The Game

Official Digital Playset App

PAW Patrol: The Game is an interactive, open-ended digital adventure where children join Chase, Marshall, Skye, and the rest of the pups in Adventure Bay. Each location in Adventure Bay is a playset where characters, vehicles, and objects are digital "toys" that can be combined to discover fun interactions. Players complete "Helping Paws" missions that focus on creative problem-solving and community service in a safe, vibrant, and preschool-friendly environment.

My most reusable systems work on this project was the interaction system underpinning every playset: four core verbs, Pick Up, Put Down, Hold, and Tap, that every object and character in the game responds to consistently, so a new playset could be built by combining existing interactions rather than inventing new ones each time.

The customer system followed a similar philosophy, though it was never a pure drop-in. Each new playset reused the same underlying foundation, but we deliberately iterated on it, aiming for one new feature specific to that playset's design goals so it would feel fresh rather than repetitive. It started in Katie's Pet Parlor, where a townsperson walks in and asks to buy something. In Rocky's Garage, the system was extended so pups themselves, not just townspeople, could be customers needing a vehicle repaired. By Porter's Cafe, the addition was a customer reaction system: food could land as good, surprising (not what was ordered, but still enjoyed), gross (squid jerky), or spicy if the player added hot sauce, instead of a single generic thank-you.
